Marian Caporusso is the Programs Section Chief of the Illinois State
Police Forensic Science Center at Chicago. Ms. Caporusso began her career
in forensics with the Chicago Police Department (CPD) in 1965. While with
the CPD, she worked as a Microanalyst performing identification and comparison
on hairs, fibers, glass, paint, gunshot residue and other trace materials,
and on blood and other body fluids. Ms. Caporusso sheds light on past
methods and practices of forensics and the lack of such scientific discoveries,
such as fingerprinting and fluid identification. "The most you could do with a blood stain was go and identify that in fact it was blood." Marian Caporusso |
